This course may be for you. This is a self paced course using our online platform. You will be able to watch videos, review resources, and complete quizzes covering essential knowledge and skills required to work in the disability sector. This course will cover NDIS works, its legal frameworks, professional boundaries and restrictive practices, the use of technology and augmentative communication techniques and medication and personal care. This is not a nationally recognised course. It is an introduction to the disability sector and it is strongly recommended that participants continue to engage in more practical face to face workshops or accredited courses.

Who is this for?

This course has been designed for anyone new to the disability sector or those wanting to gain employment in disabilities. This course is only a very basic introduction to disability work.

  • Positive Behaviour Management

  • Communicating with people with disabilities- Use of Augmentative communication strategies and social stories

  • Restrictive Practices

  • Epilepsy (Theory only)

  • Introduction to Medications – Theory only

  • Introduction to Personal Care

 

Upon completion of this workshop, participants will be issued with a Certificate of Completion.
